The Christmas season really is the most wonderful time of the year for me. Seeing all the Christmas lights and decorations puts me in such a great mood that I can’t help but spread that mood to others. The most valuable things I have in my life are my relationships with others. I have wonderful relationships with mentors, networking groups, and friendships with talented and brilliant women. I’m so grateful to the people in my life who invested in me. All of these relationships have pushed me to always put my best foot forward and reach new heights. Without them, I would not be the person that I am today. I’m sure the same is true for them. Someone in their lives invested in them and pushed them to be better, and they’ve paid it forward by pushing me. (more…)
Now that November is here and Thanksgiving is approaching, I’ll be doing a series on the thing I’m currently most grateful for: community.
I’m eternally grateful for the people who are in my life and the ways in which they’ve blessed me. Today, November 6th, 2015, the official one year mark to the day of my wedding, it’s only right to start this series off by thanking my community of supportive family and friends.
By this time next year, I will be on my way down the aisle to marry the love my life. We’ve been engaged for almost a year now and lots of the wedding plans are already complete thanks to the help of our family and friends. We were gifted so many things to make our dreams come true and know that none of it would be possible without the moral, financial, and physical support of our family and friends. (more…)
With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, I want to talk about love – real love, not that infatuation garbage we post as love on social media. I want to talk about true love, the not so perfect, not so romantic, raw, down and dirty love.
I know the pretty soon I’ll see lots of posts from single people wanting to be in a relationship. I get it, it’s nothing wrong with wanting love. We were made to desire love, but ask yourself, are you truly looking for love? Or is what you’re after some unrealistic fantasy you’ve gotten off of social media and movies? (more…)
