I have very oily skin. Because of that I get lots of blackheads and breakouts which leads to dark marks. For my everyday makeup, I like looks that cover up those dark marks, keeps me matte, and looks as natural as possible. Don’t get me wrong, I love an over the top makeup look as much as the next girl, but for everyday, I try to keep it simple.
I also try to keep it affordable. 99.9% of the makeup I own is from the drugstore. I want makeup that works, but I’m not trying to break the bank to get it. If any of this sounds like you too, keep reading for my tips, tricks, and products that I turn to on a daily basis. (more…)

I’ve been loving quite a few things that I’ve discovered (or re-discovered) this past February. From beauty products, to new found Youtubers, keep reading for a list of all my February Favorites & why I love them…
I love lipsticks, especially lipsticks that are matte and lipsticks that last all day. ColourPop Ultra Matte Liquid lipsticks do just that. Their super matte formula glides on like water and lasts all day. Plus, these amazing lip products are just $6!
ColourPop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks are a lipstick lovers best friend. The only problem with these lipsticks (if you even want to call it a problem) is that they look different on every skin tone. Due to the high opaqueness of the product, one color can look like a completely different color on a different skin color.
To help out my fellow brown skin lipstick lovers, I have a few pictures below of me wearing LAX, Be-Dazzled, Limbo, Guess, Chi, More Better, and Kapow….
Our wedding is officially a little less than 9 months away, so my fiance and I are now in the full swing of wedding planning. We’ve already booked our venue, selected our bridal party, and I’ve already found my dream dress. Since many of our wedding guest will be traveling from out of state, we decided it would be a good idea to send out our Save the Dates a little earlier than the usual recommendation, six month before the wedding.
I can easily get stressed out with the details of wedding planning, so it’s very important to me that I do things in the easiest and most affordable way possible. Here’s what we did:
Today, February 9, is my fiancé’s 26th birthday. When I met him in 2009, right before his 19th birthday, I had no idea he’d become the man that he is today. With each passing year, I’ve been able to witness first hand the growth in him and the growth in our relationship.
Today, my fiancé is the epitome of what I think a partner should be. His characteristics are why I love him and why I can’t wait to be his wife. In honor of his 26 birthday, I’ve written 26 reasons why I love him – 26 qualities of a perfect partner. (more…)

I surveyed all the guys I knew and asked for their input on Valentines Day activities they actually enjoyed. Many had to take a moment to think about it as they’d never been asked this question before. Some felt Valentines Day was a waste of time and money, some were all for it and wanted to shower the women in their lives with affection, but nonetheless, they all provided insight on the top things they’d like to do for Valentines Day. Here are the 7 Valentines Day Activities Your Man Won’t Hate.
I’ve recently done some housekeeping in my personal life. I had been holding on to people who were really just bringing me down. I tend to do that sometimes. I’m sort of a hoarder of memories. I base relationships on the good times I had with the person, rather than the present relationship we have. Today, in honor of the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday, I’ve decided to love myself enough to take out the trash.
The fact of the matter is that some people are toxic for your happiness. I don’t know about you, but some people who were in my life stole the joy right from it whenever we came in contact. I kept giving myself excuses as to why I needed to keep that person in my life, but the truth is, no one is entitled to your friendship. Friendship should be earned. The amount of time or trails and tribulations that a person’s been through with someone should not be the determining factor to the future of the relationship. The quality should. How does that person make you feel? It took me years to learn this and I’m sure it’s something I’ll be working on forever, but so far, I learned there were at least 5 types of people I needed to remove from my life immediately. They consisted of:
